On Friday, Oct. 2. Ryerson’s School of Journalism and the Ryerson Journalism Alumni Association (RJAA), in association with J-Source, presented “What’s Next for News? A Conversation About the Future of Journalism,” a two-panel discussion series held at the university in Toronto.
A pre-panel discussion moderated by CBC executive producer Mary Sheppard featured Canadian Business Online senior editor Bryan Borzykowski, CTV new media journalist Amber MacArthur, Canadian Press reporter Romina Maurino, freelance journalist Adrian Ma and Toronto Star senior editor, digital news Marissa Nelson.
J-Source, along with Ryerson professor Joyce Smith and fourth year Ryerson j-student (and J-Source Students’ Lounge editor) Melissa Wilson, live blogged both panels and provided constant updates on Twitter (@jsource, #whatsnext).
In addition, here is a video (in four parts) of the earlier panel (video for the evening panel is here). Our special thanks to Gary Gould and Matthew Braga for their technical assistance. These videos were produced and edited by Anand Ram.
