The Canadian Journalism Foundation has an opportunity for an interim Communications Manager (part-time, contract) from June until November 2026

 

CJF Interim Communications Manager

June 17, 2026 – November 1, 2026

Reporting directly to the President and Executive Director this part-time communications manager will use digital platforms to communicate effectively the work and activities of the Canadian Journalism Foundation. 

Responsibilities: 

  • Working with the Program Manager, write monthly newsletter, e-blasts, media releases, scripts, invitations and remarks.
  • Maintain the CJF digital distribution lists.
  • Oversee social media strategies and content to promote CJF programs, research and podcast.
  • Design images for website, social media, newsletters and event slides.
  • Write and update content for CJF website.
  • Coordinate required translation for press releases, website and other materials.
  • Coordinate design and production of promotional materials including posters, sponsorship packages, print and digital ads
  • Perform analytics research to identify target audiences for each event. 
  • Prepare slide decks for presentations.
  • Prepare and publish CJF Annual Report
  • Update CJF WordPress website
  • Prepare communications plan for CJF fund-raising initiatives including direct appeals, Giving Tuesday, and Fellowship fund-raising
  • Other duties as assigned

Compensation: 

$35-$40/hour commensurate with experience
