When Postmedia made its announcement last week about layoffs, paywalls and ceasing Sunday editions of some papers (or Monday, in the National Post's case), CEO Paul Godfrey emphasized that they'd be focusing on their digital properties.

So, we decided to take a look at what the folks in two Postmedia newsrooms are doing. They have been tasked with experimenting to find new innovations of what journalism in their respective communities can be — not only in digital, but print as well.

They are the National Post Labs and the Edmonton Experiment, and though they have a similar mandate, they are taking different approaches to achieving it.
