The Department of Media Studies at the Catholic University of America seeks a full-time tenure track assistant professor starting September 2012.

We seek innovative scholars whose training and methodology match the mission of our interdisciplinary, humanities-based curriculum integrating media history, media rhetoric, media analysis, and media production. The position is open with a strong preference for a candidate whose research and teaching interests are in the area of media and religion, including but not limited to such specialties as religion and media technologies, religion and media theory, comparative religious media, media and church history, media and Catholic Social Teaching, religious rhetoric and media, religion and media ethics, religious symbolism and mass communication, religious and media institutions, religion and media policy, religious reportage and/or media coverage of religion.
