In as few as a couple of weeks, Sun Media will begin delivering four new newspapers to communities in Ontario.
According to a press release today from Serge Sasseville, VP of corporate and institutional affairs for Sun Media, there will be a paper in each of Windsor, Ottawa, Guelph and Kitchener-Waterloo. Accompanying each paper will be a digital site, local editorial and targeted advertising.
All four of the papers will be distributed as weeklies.

Each of these cities is already home to news organizations providing local coverage, and Ottawa currently has another Sun-owned daily in the Ottawa Sun. Of the local daily competitors in the other communities, Torstar currently owns the Waterloo Region Record, The Guelph Mercury, while Postmedia owns the Windsor Star.
