Ryerson Review of Journalism wins 6 AEJMC awards

RRJ SpringThis year’s Ryerson Review of Journalism (RRJ) has picked up six prizes at the Association for Education in Journalism and Mass Communications (AEJMC) student magazine awards.

The RRJ winners were:

  • First place, single issue of an ongoing print magazine (editorial) – Spring 2009 RRJ, edited by Marit Mitchell
  • First place, consumer magazine article (people) – “Deconstructing Barry,” by Ashley Walters
  • First place, consumer magazine article (investigation and analysis) — “One Powerful Union Tactic,” by Carolyn Morris
  • Second place, consumer magazine article (investigation and analysis) – “Hot Topic,” by Eve TobolkaRRJ Summer
  • Second place, consumer magazine article (feature) – “The Long Goodbye,” by Greg Hudson
  • Third place, consumer magazine article (feature) –Pissed Off,” by Greg Harris

Canadian Magazines blog noted that the competition attracted 232 entries from 23 universities from the United States and Canada this year. The awards will be presented in August at the AEJMC convention in Boston.
