NY Times “public editor” role under review

Tipped off by a New York Observer story earlier this week, Journalism.org investigates the New York Times‘ alleged plans to terminate its ombudsman position. The position — an independent editor who reviews reader complaints and writes a column evaluating the paper’s coverage — was created following the Jayson Blair scandal.
