Newsperson of the year: polls closing Jan. 5 at 5 p.m. Eastern

The competition for Newsperson of the Year is winding down. If you haven’t cast your vote, please note that polls will close Monday, Jan. 5 at 5 p.m., Eastern Time.

The six finalists are: David Beers, Bernard Derome, Chantal Hébert, Stephanie Nolen, Graeme Smith and Ken Whyte.

As of Sunday evening, the top three are:

• Ken Whyte with 60.8 per cent of the vote
• David Beers with 21.6 per cent of the vote
• Graeme Smith with 8.8 per cent of the vote
