We are thrilled to announce that Brodie Fenlon will be joining CBC News as the Managing Editor for Digital, including CBCNews.ca, the number one news site in Canada.

Brodie is a well-known and respected leader in the digital space.  He comes to us from the Huffington Post Canada, where he was the Managing Editor for News.  He was part of the team who launched HuffPost in Canada followed by the launch of the BC and Alberta portals.  Under his leadership, HuffPost Canada has gained significant audience in Canada.  Brodie previously worked at the Globe and Mail, where he was a News and Features editor for globeandmail.com.  In that capacity, he created and managed special projects, managed the homepage and was a multimedia storyteller.  He was also the lead web editor on Project Jacmel, the winner of the National Newspaper Award in Multimedia in 2010.

He began his career as a reporter at the London Free Press and also worked at Seneca College and the Toronto Sun.  He has an MA in Journalism from the University of Western, a B.Ed and BA from Lakehead University.

Brodie will join the great team at CBCNews.ca July 29.  He will be working closely with the newsgathering and program teams here at the network as we continue to evolve into an integrated content company.  In the meantime, you can follow him on Twitter @brodiefenlon

Please join us in congratulating Brodie.
