For 12 years running, the Thomson family (of Thomson Reuters fame) has topped Canadian Business‘ Rich 100 list. The family’s net worth is $23.36 billion, up 6.2% over 2009.
Other media families topped the list as well:For the first time, Pierre Karl and Érik Péladeau of Montreal’s Quebecor Inc. also made the list (#85).
The Irving family took the third spot at $7.46-billion. The Rogers family rose a spot to number four with a net worth of $6-billion. Shaw Communication’s Jim Shaw made #42 with a $1.4-billion net worth.
Makes you wonder: are we on the wrong side of this business?
