Richard Williams, managing editor of Corner Brook, Nfld.-based The Western Star has announced his plans to retire from the paper, according to a Canadian Press report.
Williams worked for the paper for 44 years, starting in 1964 as a reporter.
The Star is owned by Transcontinental Media Inc. and covers the western area of the province.
Williams will be replaced by Troy Turner, the paper’s current assistant regional editor.
