Krista Erickson, the Sun TV host of Canada Live, has quit the network and moved to the United Kingdom, The Globe and Mail’s Steve Ladurantaye reports. She has  since been spotted reporting for CBS News London.

Erickson, who left CBC to join Sun News Network for its launch in April 2011, will perhaps have her Sun tenure remembered most by her controversial and combative interview with Canadian dancer Margie Gillis. The Canadian Broadcast Standards Council received so many complaints about the segment that it had to ask viewers to stop sending them in. In the end, the council that governs broadcasters ruled that Erickson was not out of line in the interview, which involved the Sun host questioning public funding for the arts (and such funding that Gillis in particular had received).

Ladurantaye reports it is not clear how Sun TV plans to fill Erickson’s spot on Canada Live. The network recently revealed it was losing $17-million per year and has applied to the CRTC for mandatory carriage, which would mean it would find itself in every Canadian home that subscribes to basic cable and generate around $18-million per year.
