John Cruickshank named CJF chair

Toronto Star publisher John Cruickshank is the new chair of the Canadian Journalism Foundation’s board of directors.

Toronto Star publisher John Cruickshank is the new chair of the Canadian Journalism Foundation’s board of directors.

"CJF has done wonderful work in journalism education and training, in putting serious ethical and professional discussions and debates in front of the Canadian public with its vibrant programming and in seeking to build a constituency for responsible journalism across the country," said Cruickshank.

He replaces outgoing chair Robert Lewis, who will wrap up a three-year term on May 21.

Scott White, vice-president of content strategy and business development at Postmedia Network, was also named vice-chair for the CJF board alongside vice-chair Maureen Shaughnessy-Kitts.
