Former CBC Radio VP appointed to Order of Canada

Margaret Lyons, a former vice-president of CBC English Radio has been added as a member of the Order of Canada.

Lyons, who helped create CBC programs including As It Happens and Morningside, was “recognized as a pioneer for women in broadcasting.”

Lyons was honoured along with 56 other Canadians, including hockey player Mario Lemieux, Toronto community activist David Pecaut, who died in December, and former NDP leader Alexa McDonough.
