Canada’s broadcast regulator has approved CTVglobemedia’s bid to buy CHUM Ltd., but says it must sell five TV stations in the process, ReportonBusiness.com says. The CRTC said ownership of CITY-TV stations in Vancouver, Calgary, Edmonton, Winnipeg and Toronto would give the CTV group too much control of the TV market in those cities.
