CTV Calgary has announced that anchor and foreign correspondent Tara Nelson will anchor the network’s News at Six starting in mid-November.
Broadcaster Magazine reports:
“‘We’re excited that Tara has chosen to work in our newsroom,’ said Len Perry, Vice-President and General Manager, CTV Calgary. ‘With more than 20 years of broadcasting experience, she will be a very valuable member of our team.’
“Originally from Sherwood Park, Alberta, Nelson has spent the past two years in London, England as the European Bureau Chief for GLOBAL NATIONAL. She has reported on major stories throughout the world, including extensive coverage of Canadian troops in Kandahar, Afghanistan, the 2010 World Cup in Johannesburg, South Africa and the 9/11 attacks.”
“‘I am thrilled that Tara will be joining our news team,’ said Darrel Janz, Senior Anchor, CTV Calgary. ‘Her credentials are impeccable and she is respected as one of our country’s top journalists. With Tara in place, the timing is perfect for me to step back a little from the anchor desk and concentrate on another passion – telling stories.'”
