The Canadian Society of Magazine Editor’s hosted its annual
Editors’ Choice Awards last night, naming Penny Caldwell, editor of Cottage Life, as Editor of the
Year. Magazine of the year awards in small, medium, large
and trade magazines went to This Magazine, Cottage Life, Canadian Geographic and Design Edge.
Design Edge won Best Front of Book and Cottage Life won Best Website, and Homemakers won Best Display Writing.
The event was part of magazines conference Magnet, taking play June 2-5 in Toronto. Magnet kicked off on Tuesday with a talk by David Granger, editor of Esquire, who spoke about what magazines could become, if only we let them. Come back to J-Source for ongoing conference coverage.
