CBC Radio won 26 awards at the 2011 New York Festivals Radio Program and Promotion Awards, which recognizes the world’s best radio programs. Included in the record-number of awards: a grand trophy for The Age of Persuasion, a program which explores the ways in which advertising and marketing permeates Canadians’ lives and is produced for the CBC by Pirate Radio, also named production company of the year. In addition to the grand prize, CBC won four gold, eight silver, six bronze and five finalist certificates. In total, the jury awarded 36 gold, 42 silver, and 46 bronze trophies, plus 59 finalist certificates.
