CBC Kitchener Waterloo Morning Edition goes off air pending CRTC approval

CBC Radio has to take its Morning Edition show in Kitchener-Waterloo off air while it waits for CRTC approval.

CBC filed its application for the Waterloo Region service with the CRTC in June 2012, but it did not recieve permission to broadcast. The show had launched just over a month ago and was the first new station the CBC had opened in Ontario in the last 40 years.

The broadcaster called it an "unfortunate oversight."
