<p>Veteran CBC news host Evan Solomon is the new voice of the network's flagship political program, <em>The House</em>.<br /><br />Solomon currently hosts CBC's Power and Politics, which airs Monday - Thursday. He will continue to do so;<em> The</em> <em>House</em> airs on Saturdays.<br /><br />Solomon makes his debut Sept. 17th. He'll replace Kathleen Petty, who has been hosting the show since 2006, and <a href="http://j-source.ca/article/hunt-new-hosts-house-ottawa-morning">announced her move to Calgary</a> in early summer.<br /> </p>

READ MORE<p>Recent Carleton grad Thandi Fletcher has been awarded the 2011 Michelle Lang Fellowship in Journalism.<br /><br />The 22-year-old is the second young journalist to receive the fellowship, which was created in honour of award-winning <em>Calgary Herald</em> journalist Michelle Lang, who was the first Canadian journalist killed while reporting on the war in Afghanistan.<br />

Tom Clark is set to host Global's new political program, <em>The West Block</em>, which aims to facilitate commentary and act as an intermediary in the conversation between viewers and government.<br /><br />Patrick Brown, this year's winner of the Canadian Journalism Foundation Lifetime Achievement Award, will also join Global as its China correspondent based in Beijing.<br /><br />More details about the new appointments will be released this fall.</p>
