Scott White, who has been with the Canadian Press for over three decades, is joining Postmedia Network as vice-president of content strategy and business development on March 24.
According to the memo, White will “lead the development of content strategies for native advertising and branded content across all platforms and explore new partnerships and opportunities” in this newly created position. White will also work closely on “product 2.0”—the four-platform strategy Postmedia is due to launch in the spring.
“Scott joins us from Canadian Press where, as its editor-in-chief, he spent the last 15 years transforming a legacy news agency from a print-based organization to a multimedia content provider,” said Lou Clancy, senior vice-president of content. “Scott recently received his Master’s of Business Administration from the University of Toronto’s Rotman School of Management.”
White’s permanent replacement at the Canadian Press has not been named yet. Andrew Lundy, the director of digital at the newswire, will serve as the interim editor-in-chief.
