Battery Radio, CBC, Pirate Toronto, Pittaway productions, Rogers Broadcasting (92.5 Jack FM) and Tandem Projects all took home prizes from the New York Festivals 2009 Radio Programming and Promotion Awards.
The Current’s (CBC) interview with Mellissa Fung (after she returned from Afghanistan in November, where she was taken hostage for nearly a month) won a gold medal, as did “Back from the Brink” a piece about a medical advancement in cardiac care from Pittaway Productions, which also aired on The Current.
