Cameron Williamson, former editor-in-chief of Glow, has been named editor-in-chief of Flare. He replaces Miranda Purves, who left the Rogers Media publication in January.
Williamson worked most recently as a freelance project editor for the Globe and Mail style section. He was editor-in-chief of Glow between 2009 and 2011 and the art director of Chatelaine prior to that.
“Cameron has the vision to elevate Flare to a leading multiplatform brand that offers audiences a unique and unparalleled Canadian perspective on global fashion, style and culture,” said Steve Maich, senior vice-president and general manager of publishing at Rogers Media, in a statement. “He brings with him strong leadership skills, boundless creativity and a remarkable passion for fashion and beauty.”
Correction: An earlier version of this article stated Purves left Flare in December. In fact, she announced her departure in December and left the magazine in January.
