Speak is an annual human rights magazine published by jhr (Journalists for Human Rights) that focuses on a different theme each year. University students across Canada contribute articles and one university is chosen to edit and produce the magazine. This year we want to look at Canada's human rights record from regional perspectives. Speak 2011 poses the question: Where is Canada as a nation historically, politically, internationally, regarding its human rights record? What are we doing well? What can we do
better?

Try exploring language rights, aboriginal rights, immigration rights, educational rights (youth), traditional housing, poverty, business (economics, land), political/international (military, peacekeeping), etc.

Other story pitches will be considered. Interested writers should send a pitch to jhr.regina@gmail.com
by October 28th.
