In an attempt to avoid losing track of “all the positives being generated in Calgary,” the Calgary Herald has launched a new daily feature called Good News.
Good News stories will appear daily in the print edition’s A-Section as well as online.
Herald editor Lorne Motley wrote in a column introducing Good News:
“Welcome to…our new daily feature dedicated to highlighting positive events and people, and celebrating special things about our city and country.
This page is a smart packaging of stories that have a positive twist, whether it be a story about pump prices going down, a world-changing breakthrough, or someone doing a good deed or overcoming adversity…
The intention is to brighten your day– perhaps even make you laugh–and hopefully serve as a source of some brightness among the clouds.”
The Herald is asking readers to send in news stories or suggestions.
