Montreal Gazette sees changes in wake of Postmedia cuts

Michelle Lang Fellowship awarded to Carleton grad Natalie Stechyson

<p> </p><p>The Michelle Lang Fellowship in Journalism has been awarded to recent Carleton University graduate Natalie Stechyson, <a href="http://www.financialpost.com/markets/news/Postmedia+Network+Awards+2012+Michelle+Lang+Fellowship+Journalism/7082193/story.html" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Postmedia announced</a>. A graduate of Carleton’s Master of Journalism program, Stechyson is the third recipient of the award and has experience reporting and editing for Postmedia News, <em>The Globe and Mail</em> and New Brunswick’s <em>The Telegraph-Journal</em>.</p>

Writing e-book more lucrative than magazine writing for journalist Paula Todd

<p>Publishing a scoop-filled story about finding Karla Homolka has earned the author 10 times more than a magazine-writing fee, according to an <a href="http://www.thestar.com/entertainment/books/2012/08/11/homolka_ebook_a_publishing_breakthrough.html">article in the Star.</a></p><p>The Star reports Paula Todd's ebook has sold as many as 70,000 copies, generating as much as $200,000 in gross sales revenue.</p>
