The new station, dubbed CBCKW, aired on 89.1 FM for the first time on Monday March 11 at 6 am with a brand new three-hour show called “The Morning Edition.” Previously, listeners could only tune in to the Toronto-based CBC Metro Morning show.</p>
READ MORE<p> </p><p><a href="http://www.ccwpf-cclpm.ca/english">The Canadian Committee for World Press Freedom</a> is accepting nominations for a journalist who made a significant contribution to promoting free speech.</p><p>The $2,000 award is to acknowledge those contributions of journalists or media workers in Canadian print or electronic media during the past 15 months.</p><p>The winner will receive a certificate from the Canadian Commission for UNESCO and will be announced at the annual World Press Freedom Day Luncheon in Ottawa at the National Arts Centre on May 30.</p>
