Alberta Magazines Publishers Association needs new executive director

Colleen Seto won't be coming back from maternity leave to resume her spot as Alberta Magazine Publishers Association (AMPA) executive director. Acting executive director Andrew Mah won't be staying at the helm, either; he has other plans.

"It's the right time to move on," writes Seto in an Alberta Magazines blog post explaining her decision, "I never really thought I'd have kids, and while having one has definitely changed my outlook on the world, she's not the only reason I've decided to change gears. While the work at AMPA is never done, I feel like I've done all I needed to do to set the organization up for a long and successful future."

The Association is no longer in the "dark financial times" it was when she started in 2005, Seto adds, and she's confident the organization is more fiscally secure than it's ever been.

As for Mah, Seto writes: "After seeing Andrew's hard work in my stead, I'm even more confident the good work AMPA does can and will carry on. Unfortunately, it won't be Andrew who will carry the torch moving forward (he has some exciting plans of his own!), but I'm sure we will find another capable and passionate individual to continue down this path."

Think you're that person? You've got until August 5th to apply.
