In Common Ground magazine, media researcher Hsing Lee calls the new English language Al-Jazeera service a “breath of fresh air and a return to true investigative journalism on TV.” Al-Jazeera offers the new service on cable, broadcast, satellite and Internet streaming video. Domestic television outlets passed on this political hot potato, but Lee notes Canadians can subscribe online for a small fee, declaring it “worth every penny.”
