READ MORE<p>The second and final set of finalists in the 2011 Canadian Online Publishing Awards has been announced. The leaders in this round include <em>Cyberpresse</em> (seven nominations), <em>Edmonton Journal</em> and <em>Toronto Star</em> (six nominations each) in the newspaper division, while <em>Fashion </em>and<em> Truck News</em> (three nominations each) lead the magazine categories. Online-only title <em>Toronto Standard</em> takes four nominations in this round.</p>
READ MORE<p>Journalists have one month left to apply for the Peter Gzowski Life Literacy Fellowship, which grants reporters $3,000 to research and develop a story on adult literacy in Canada. Last year's winner was Susan Quinlan of the <em>Prairie Post West Newspaper,</em> who wrote about the growing Low German Mennonite community in southern Alberta, and its struggles to access literacy courses.
