Madeline Ziniak steps down as OMNI TV national VP

Mohamed Fahmy will appeal sentence

The family of the former Al-Jazeera English bureau chief announced the appeal August 20. </p>

Updated: Body of missing sports editor found

<p><img align="left" alt="" class="imagecache-thumbnail inline-image" hspace="10" src="http://j-source.ca/sites/www.j-source.ca/files/imagecache/thumbnail/images/Steve Pettibone_2.JPG" title="" /></p><p>Police have found the body of missing <em>Brockville Recorder and Times </em>sports editor Steve Pettibone near where his car was found abandoned.</p><p><a href="http://www.ottawasun.com/2014/08/20/body-of-missing-ontario-sports-reporter-found-no-foul-play-suspected">QMI Agency reports</a> that foul play is not suspected in Pettibone’s death.</p>

Walrus editor John Macfarlane to retire

The Tyee brings reader-funded reporter to Parliament Hill

The Vancouver-based online publication successfully ran a crowdfunding campaign last year to raise $100,000 towards the expansion.</p>
