Budget cutbacks and travel restrictions have led to the cancellation of Magazines Canada’s highly regarded annual School for Professional Publishing, reports D.B. Scott on his blog, Canadian Magazines. Scott, who was curriculum coordinator for the 9-day PD program held annually at Niagara-on-the-Lake, reports that faculty have been told the workshop is being postponed until 2010.
(Disclosure: I was program director in one of the program’s earlier incarnations, the Magazine Publishing Workshop, also run by Magazines Canada. Prior to that, the program was known as the Banff Publishing Workshop.)
