A Chinese journalist who faked a story about steamed buns filled with cardboard was sentenced to to a year in jail and a fine of 1,000 yuan (C$97), according to China’s Xinhua News Agency. The court heard that Zi Beijia, 28, edited the footage at home to avoid detection and fabricated the story to advance his career.
