Hate crime investigation launched surrounding Ezra Levant’s Roma broadcast

<p>The Roma Community Centre in Toronto wants police to investigate comments made by Ezra Levant in a recent broadcast on Sun News Network as a hate crime.</p><p><a href="http://www.romatoronto.org/pdf/Seeking_justice_for_Canada's_Roma.pdf" target="_blank" rel="noopener">The centre says</a> it has “officially reported a hate crime” about Ezra Levant’s broadcast, “The Jew vs. the Gypsies” that aired on his show <em>The Source</em> on September 5. The Toronto Police Service confirmed to J-Source that they are investigating a complaint from the centre.</p>

Digital Journal launches new newsroom – for brands

On Jeremy Paxman’s interview with Conrad Black: What do you think?

<p>Conrad Black is proud that he has emerged from his conviction and imprisonment in a manner that allowed him to “endure a <a href="http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-us-canada-20036674">discussion like this</a> without getting up and smashing your face in.”</p><p>The discussion in question is one he had with BBC <em>Newsnight</em>’s Jeremy Paxman, broadcast yesterday, in which Black slammed the U.S. justice system and then Paxman, who repeatedly referred to Black as a “convicted criminal.”</p>

Winners of 2012 COPAs announced

<p> </p><p>Digital journalism was honoured last night as the <a href="http://www.canadianonlinepublishingawards.com/2012/winners.php" target="_blank" rel="noopener">winners of the 2012 Canadian Online Publishing Awards</a> presented by Masthead were announced at The Hoxton in Toronto by emcee Amber Mac.</p><p>The COPAs are broken down into three categories by publication type: Red (consumer, custom, religious, public association); Blue (business-to-business, professional association, farm, scholarly); and Green (daily and weekly newspapers, and broadcasters).</p>
