Des cours de déontologie pour les hebdos

<p>Le Conseil de presse du Québec (CPQ) participera ce week-end au <a href="http://www.hebdos.com/Activites---Evenements/Congres-annuel/Programme.aspx">congrès annuel de l'Association Hebdos Québec</a> afin de sensibiliser les éditeurs de la presse régionale à la déontologie et à l'éthique journalistique. Le secrétaire général du conseil, Guy Amyot, y donnera la première d'une série de formations qu'il offrira dans les salles de rédactions des hebdomadaires dans les prochains mois.</p>

British media give riot footage to police

<p>The BBC, ITN, and Sky News have all handed unbroadcast footage of London's August riots to police after being served court orders, <a href="http://www.theguardian.com/media/2011/sep/22/bbc-itn-sky-news-riots/print" target="_blank" rel="noopener">reports the <em>Guardian</em></a>.</p><p>The <em>Daily Telegraph</em> also disclosed material after being served with a production order. In deciding whether to grant the order, judges are required to consider the police's interest in gaining evidence against the public's interest in free press.</p>

Bad news at The New York Times

<p><em>New York Times</em> third-quarter advertising revenue is expected to drop by eight per cent, double the previous forecast in July.</p><p>Print revenue advertising is expected to drop 10 per cent, <a href="http://www.chicagotribune.com/business/sns-rt-us-newyorktimestre78k4sh-20110921,0,6098417.story" target="_blank" rel="noopener">according to an Reuters</a> article by Jennifer Saba, and digital advertising will fall two to three per cent.</p>

Dogs in Canada ceases publication

<p>Canada's oldest regularly published monthly will print its last issue this year.</p><p><a href="http://www.dogsincanada.com/" target="_blank" rel="noopener"><em>Dogs in Canada</em></a>, founded in 1989, will cease print publication after its December 2011 issue; counterpart publication <em>Dogs Annual </em>will close with its 2012 edition.</p>

Décès de Louis Falardeau, «la conscience de la profession»
