Le baccalauréat en journalisme de L’Université d’Ottawa est suspendu

<p><strong>Dans son édition de ce matin, le journal <em>Le Droit</em> affirme avoir mis la main sur un rapport de mai 2012, dans lequel un comité interne à l’Université d’Ottawa conclurait à la nécessité de suspendre «le plus tôt possible», voire d’abolir purement et simplement son baccalauréat en journalisme. «Mal construit», ce programme porterait «atteinte à la réputation» de l’établissement. Globe’s communities editor Jennifer MacMillan joins Huffington Post Canada

<p><img align="left" alt="" class="imagecache-thumbnail inline-image" hspace="10" src="http://j-source.ca/sites/www.j-source.ca/files/imagecache/thumbnail/images/JenMac.PNG" title="" />The<em> Globe and Mail</em>’s senior communities editor Jennifer MacMillan is leaving the newspaper to join Huffington Post Canada as its new managing editor of news.</p><p>She had worked for the <em>Globe</em> for five years. MacMillan will fill the role vacated by Brodie Fenlon when he joined the CBC News as its managing editor for digital.</p>

Toronto Star launches paywall

Globe and Mail to cease delivery in parts of B.C., Newfoundland and Labrador

<p>The <em>Globe and Mail</em> will stop delivering its print edition in Newfoundland and Labrador and some communities in B.C. due to the “significant cost” of flying the newspapers to their destination. </p><p>Publisher and CEO Phillip Crawley told J-Source it costs $1.5 million annually to fly and truck the newspapers from its Vancouver-based printing plant to northern B. C. and from its Halifax plant to Newfoundland and Labrador.</p>

Sun News vivra

<p><strong>Malgré le refus du Conseil de </strong><strong>radiodiffusion et des télécommunications canadiennes (CRTC) </strong><strong>d’accorder à <em>Sun News</em> le droit d’être incluse dans le forfait de base des télédistributeurs, le réseau, propriété de Québécor, a annoncé qu’il ne cesserait pas ses activités.
