Winners of the 57th annual Kenneth R. Wilson Awards for excellence in business journalism were announced last night in Toronto.
Yellowknife-based Up Here Business magazine took home the coveted magazine of the year award. Its mission is to be the trusted source of news, analysis, context and opinion for and about people doing business in the North. UHB also won gold awards for best feature and best regularly featured department or column. (Full disclosure: I am the former UHB associate editor and submitted the application.)
Website of the year went to DesignEdgeCanada.com, a news information site for graphic designers at design studios, ad agencies, corporate in-house design departments, publishers and print packaging firms.
Other big winners included Precedent, Marketing, and Profit (all two golds each). Alberta Oil took home a gold and a silver and CAmagazine, which led the pack in nominations, took home one gold and three silvers.
