Six editorial staffers at Chatelaine have
been let go, the
Financial
Post reports. The changes come a little more than four
months after Jane Francisco took over as
editor-in-chief of the Rogers-owned mag.
A Rogers spokesperson also confirmed for Masthead Online that six people lost jobs at the magazine.
Those who lost their jobs include deputy editor Melanie Morassutti (on parental leave), assistant editor Danielle Groen, senior editor Rachel Giese, associate editor Jacqueline Nunes, photo editor Myles McCutcheon and senior designer Sofia Barros.
Magazine consultant and blogger D.B Scott notes that the changes are “part of a wider number of staff layoffs, shuffles, promotions and other changes at Rogers consumer magazines since Maclean’s publisher and editor Ken Whyte was given responsibility for the entire portfolio.”
