Derek Webster, founder and editor-in-chief of Maisonneuve, is leaving the seven-year-old magazine for a managing editor position at Reader’s Digest (RD), Masthead Online reports.
With Webster gone, Maisonneuve will be run by senior editor Carmine Sturnino and publisher Jennifer Varkonyi.
Of the shift to RD Webster said:
“Reader’s Digest is the most-read magazine in the country and from an editor’s point-of-view, there’s something in me that wants to speak to millions of readers instead of tens of thousands of readers. I get paid more, too.”
