B.C. information and privacy commissioner David Loukidelis is concerned that public requests for government information may be delayed. The Canadian Press reports that Loukidelis is launching a pilot project that will report regularly on how well government ministries are handling provincial Freedom of Information requests.

The project is set to begin later this year. CP reports:

Loukidelis says the main issue is how fast information is being
released, and that timely access is critical for the public’s right to
know what the government is doing.
