Sting journalism under fire

Soutik Biswas at BBC News in Delhi reports on the various shock tactics employed by Indian television journalists, saying, “The past year has been a never-ending sting season on television news.” With 40-plus news channels competing for eyeballs, BBC Now journalists, citizens and even the Supreme Court are calling into question the practice of sting journalism. Understandably, politicians caught red-handed in bribery scams are looking to legislation to solve their problems.
