The future of magazine content consumption has arrived: Next Issue Canada

Rogers continues to be at the forefront of digital innovation, leading the transition in how audiences consume content.

Today, I am pleased to share news of an exciting win for our company that reinforces Rogers’s position as a leader in digital innovation, while underscoring our commitment to world-class content and the magazine industry.

Rogers is bringing audiences Next Issue Canada – the country’s leading-edge, all-you-can-read subscription digital magazine service.

The digital newsstand provides consumers with exclusive and unlimited access to a catalogue of more than 100 top-tier Canadian and U.S. titles – Vogue, Chatelaine, The New Yorker, Maclean’s, GQ, Esquire, LOULOU, Rolling Stone, and TIME. What’s also exciting? Rogers’s publications will also be available to subscribers of Next Issue in the U.S.

The service launches October 15 exclusively to our Rogers customers with a two-month free trial, and will be available to all Canadians on December 15.

The Next Issue platform is the future of magazine content consumption. It gives audiences added value with the world’s best magazines in a format that enhances what they love about magazines – engaging visuals and in-depth content, with a more personalized, interactive experience.

We believe so strongly in the digital future of content, and the power of the Next Issue platform, that we’re putting the country’s most creative publishing mind – Ken Whyte – at its helm.  Previously, as President of Rogers Publishing, Ken delivered tremendous results – including taking Chatelaine to #1 – at a time when the media business has been facing unprecedented pressure and change. As President of Next Issue Canada, Ken will bring his unrelenting passion for superior content and understanding of audiences to the service.  He will lead Next Issue Canada with the vision and spirit of inventiveness that has become his signature in the Canadian media landscape.

With the evolving media landscape and rapid growth of subscription-based services, Rogers Media is in an enviable position with our robust content offerings across publishing, television, radio, sports, and retail.

We are committed to future growth and delivering our world-class content to Canadian audiences – not only following where they are going, but creating the kinds of media experiences that will shape and lead the industry.
