A writer who did a story about a murder case for Toronto Life magazine has been served with a subpoena seeking notes and tapes that were part of his research, the Globe and Mail reports. Lon Appleby, who wrote the story 10 years ago, will fight the attempt by a lawyer for a suspect in the case to have access to the research material.
