The programs have increased since the first census year (2007), which suggested there were 1,859 journalism programs worldwide.

Researchers discovered that 29.5 percent of the world’s journalism programs and education centres are in North America (691), followed by Asia (645) and Europe (530).

The census is ongoing, and you can submit a program to WJEC here.
