Winners announced for Asia Pacific Foundation media fellowships

The Asia Pacific Foundation of Canada announced its 2013-2014 media fellowships on Thursday. The program, supported in part by Cathay Pacific Airways, offers Canadian journalists the opportunity to travel and spend time in Asia to research and prepare stories that are both relevant and of interest to Canadians.

The 2013-14 Media Fellows are:

Jas Johal, Asia bureau chief for Global News. He will examine issues surrounding the delivery of Canadian energy resources to Asian markets and the implications for B.C.

Ken Mark, a Toronto-based freelance writer with the National Post. He will explore urban planning in Hong Kong and lessons for Canada.

Christopher Pollon, a Vancouver-based freelance journalist with The Tyee. He write a series on Asia and the life-cycle of British Columbia copper.
