Mark Bowden, a former staff writer at The Philadelphia Inquirer and current national correspondent for the Atlantic Monthly, discusses the process of posting portions of what would become his book Black Hawk Down on the Inquirer’s Web site. Bowden argues online postings like this are necessary to create a global dialogue, but voices concern that online journalism has not come very far in the 10 years since his story was posted on philly.com.
