A new study shows a wide divergence in stories generated by mainstream media and those generated by user-driven news sites, Editor & Publisher reports. The study, conducted by the Project for Excellence in Journalism, found that as mainstream media offered stories on such issues as the Iraq war, user news sites tended more toward stories about the iPhone or Nintendo.
