Torstar Corp. announced yesterday that it is reducing its workforce by 160 positions in a bid to restructure its newspaper division. The company said about 122 people are taking voluntary buy-out packages and other employees, some in online production, will be laid off.
The move is expected to save Torstar about $12 million per year.
