Canadian Press reports that Thomson Reuters closed its Montreal bureau this week, affecting one journalist and several sales people. The report said the closure was announced via an internal e-mail to staff, and that one journalist and several sales people are employed at the bureau.
Thomson Reuters — the product of a recent merger between Thomson and Reuters — previously announced plans to chop three per cent of its 50,000 global workforce. There’s no news yet about staff in Toronto, Vancouver, Calgary, Winnipeg and Ottawa.
