The Ryersonian won gold for best use of social media for Storifying a protest outside of Toronto City Hall. The Ryerson University online publication also won silver in the best news coverage category for its report on a fellow student’s drowning death.

University of British Columbia’s the Thunderbird won gold for best video or multimedia feature for this documentary on Liberia. In the same category, McGill University’s McGill News Alumni Magazine won silver for a video piece, Our McGill Places, which documents students’ and professors’ favourite places on campus.

All of these were in the blue category for either business-to-business, professional association, farm or scholarly publications.
